Oilfield Optimization is NOT a software development company. We rely mostly on the third party commercial software available in the industry in performing our engineering work and providing our consulting services. Also, we do not specifically give any special preference on the software packages to be utilized in our work because we strongly believe that all of the software packages have their own strengths, weaknesses and special features. Therefore, in selecting which software to be used in our work, we put special efforts to discuss with our clients, and understand the scope of works a priori and also to consider our clients’ preference as well.

Below is the list of software we are familiar with in performing the study and our consulting work.  We do have some of the software package in-house and their proper licenses from the corresponding vendors. However, it is important to note that due to our general policy concerning software selection, we usually do not keep any permanent licenses for the software. In most cases, we will lease the corresponding software as per needed basis depending on the projects availability and after discussing and agreeing with our clients.

In any initiative related to oilfield and well services, one of the most crucial elements is the candidate selection analysis. There are many wells/fields especially the old and already producing ones that require some kind of stimulation in one form or another in the course of their productive life. But the main question is if a well is due to be stimulated in order to enhance its productivity, which and what kind of stimulation technique is appropriate for the well and will give the value for the money invested?

We strongly emphasize on the pre-engineering analysis of each of the wells by considering the production and reservoir engineering aspects of productivity enhancement and optimization. We believe that no matter how good the treatment design and solution selection is; the production and reservoir engineering elements must be properly integrated in the candidate selection process.

The main objectives of the analysis are to ensure the right candidacy of the wells for production enhancement, performing the sensitivity analysis for solution optimization, selecting the most appropriate stimulation techniques, providing the production forecast and finally performing the economic analysis of the treatment. In performing the pre-analysis, we utilize the following software modules and packages available in the industry.
